Robeson House The primary mission of The Robeson House is to heighten the awareness of the life, legacy and philosophy of Paul Leroy Robeson, Esq. and his historical significance to the Philadelphia region, the State of Pennsylvania, the nation and for the world. It accomplishes this mission by producing, presenting and promoting exhibition, educational and community programs that make learning experiences about Robeson accessible to all ages and cultures. Although the focal point of programming will relocate to The Paul Robeson House once restoration is completed, the expression of the organization's mission is not limited to onsite programming. | |||
As one of the coordinators of the Paul Robeson Centennial Celebration in Philadelphia and producer of Centennial exhibitions, The Paul Robeson House will serve as organizer, convener and promoter of projects, cultural |  | ||
| and educational events and organizations that celebrate Robeson and teach future generations of his legacy. As a project of The West Philadelphia Cultural Alliance (WPCA), The Paul Robeson House expands WPCA's three part mission to: 1) provide access to the arts for the citizens of West Philadelphia; 2) support the development and marketing of local artists; and 3) serve as an advocate for the power of the arts to promote social change nd economic development. Founded in 1984, WPCA serves as the local arts council of West Philadelphia and as a community advocate for its artists (many of whom, like Robeson, are of national and international stature). | |||
